Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund
Though this AMC has a history of over 20 years, it is still struggling to find a foothold. A natural extension to a bank floating an asset management business, BOB Asset Management has been in existence for long. In October 2007, Pioneer Global Asset Management SpA (Pioneer Investments), acquired 51 per cent stake in BOB Asset Management to emerge as Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund. The AMC has focused its offerings in the liquid fund category and has nothing to write home about as it has remained a small fund house that is largely focused towards debt schemes. However, the change in management and the bank's existing network of over 3,000 branches has the potential to go places if the management gets its act together and gets the necessary future direction.
