While Indian Overseas Bank has started distributing the coins, talks are on with the State Bank of India, UCO bank and ICICI Bank to sell them. The coins will have the Ashoka Chakra engraved on one side and Gandhiji's image on the on the other. A 5 gm coin and a 10 gm coin will be available, as will a 20 gm bar.The initiative comes at a time when gold prices have increased 16.2% in the first three months of the year, marking the largest quarterly rise since 1986.
